Mellanyl® sheet is made from polylactic acid, abbreviated to PLA. PLA is extracted from various products, such as corn. Mellanyl sheets are compostable under non-industrial conditions. It is an impact-resistant and easy-to-process sheet with a hard surface. The sheets can also be printed, making them suitable for interior applications where polystyrene or PVC are normally used. The sheets are matte on one side and gloss on the other.
